Importance of Scholarships

Scholarship mean a lot to people without any way to get into college. It provides an opportunity to get an education and learn about their future career. Without a scholarship they may not be able to get a job that would be able to support them or their family. A scholarship may mean everything to their family,and it brings a relief of stress to the parents. There are a lot of scholarships out there for all types of people. Getting a scholarship may be like winning the lottery to some families. Especially if it is a full ride scholarship that is great for the parents and brings joy to them. Most student do not get full rides to colleges, but the one that do take advantage of that a get their degrees.

Academically I am where I need to be, but not where I want to be. I want to be in the top 50 % of my class which means I need to work hard to achieve that. I currently studying harder and working to boost my GPA and Class Rank.I want to achieve my goal by the end of my Senior year in 2016.
 The colleges I have chosen are the ones that I like and they serve the education I need to have to become an engineer. At UNT and UTA they have great program that would help me a lot. Texas A&M also provides an engineering program that would help me in my career. So I think I have chosen some good colleges to pursuit.

College degree and Country comparison

I believe a college degree is necessary because with out it you life may not be the same. Social people may think different of you and judge you For example they may think they are on a higher level than you. Which would cause you to be in doubt if you should have friends or anything. So it is worth time of going to school and using your money to pay for it. Economically it is worth it because with a degree you can get better jobs and earn more money. More money can support your family and have ya'll living right. You could be able to pay bills on time and still have a little extra money on the side. So I believe it is necessary to earn a degree and I do not think it's a waste of time.

Well this U.S schooling system is some what similar to Frances schooling. There are also some difference on the way they do things and they have extra things that U.S does not have. In the U.S we have kindergarten,elementary, middle school , and high school. Then of course you choose if you want to go to college. France has Kindergarten, Elementary , Middle School, and High School,but they have a vocational high school for students with jobs. Their college system is different and complex. Very hard to explain the way they go to college but it is different than ours.

Spring Break

Over Spring Break I was sick.... I did not do much but rest and play basketball. I felt so bad during the weak and I was so mad that I had to stay in my beginning of my break. Lucky towards the end I started feeling better toward the end. I went the mall and out to eat yesterday which was nice to be out of the house all day. Saturday I played basketball and hung out with my friends. That was basically my whole spring break.

Friday

The Most influential person I had is my Mom. She works hard every day to put food on the table. Even if is bad weather she put in that work and she stay on the grind.

 I do agree that we are filled with passion but I don't how why we read poetry maybe it inspiring to other people. I honestly do not care for poetry and probably never will.

 I agree that we do need to look at the world in different views. It gives you a different perspective on life and school. I do not have a different story to tell im sorry.

I hope to leave an great impression on my teachers and fellow students. I want everyone to remember me as a great people and a really good friend. I want to leave a legacy behind in basketball after I graduate and everything.

Thursday

I believe that Neil would have still have committed suicide even if Mr. Keating did not come into his life. I say this because he want to act before he even met Mr. Keating and he loved acting so if his dad didn't let him he would still have committed suicide.

I believe that Charlie was the bravest of all the boys. I say this because he seized the day! He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed the life. He was a bit darling by putting the DPS in the school paper.

I believe Mr.Keating put the book in Neil room because of the DPS. He did it because he believe poetry was a wonderful thing and he knew the boys had started the Dead Poet Society again.

Follow Up Character Questions

1. I believe that the character that transformed the most is Todd because he came to the school shy and quiet. During the film he becomes less shy and begin to interact to the boy and hang out with them. He actually spoke in front of the class which was his fear in the film.
 2. Mr. Keating stays the same throughout the whole movie. I say this because he stayed influencing the kids to think for them selves. Also Neal's father stayed the same because he doesn't change his mind about letting Neil be in play or be a actor. Cameron also didn't change his personality did not change he stayed sneaky.
3. Mr. Keating was a very inspiring and influential in the film. He didn't change during the movie he still stayed the same to me. I believe this because during the end of the film he was telling Neil follow his dream.
4.Todd's fear was to read out loud in front of an audience. Todd conquered his fear because he read out loud in front of his class. Knox fear was to ask that girl on a date, but he conquered it because he asked he and she went with him at the end of the movie. Neil fear was to talk to his father about acting but he did not tell he wanted to act. Charlie fear was to tell people about the DPS but did it when he put in the paper.

Mona Lisa questions

The roles of women were different from the roles of women now. By that I mean back then the men expected their wives to have dinner on the table by 5 p.m. They also expect women to do all the choirs and raising of the children. The choirs consist of laundry , cooking , cleaning , and grocery shopping. Now days women have different responsibilities these are really looked at the same way. women are more independent then back then.The way women are now is the way Katherine Watson saw them. She wanted those young ladies to be the leaders of the future. 

Betty was not happy in her new marriage except for in the beginning of the marriage. I don't think she was happy because Spencer kept leaving for long periods of time. Plus he was cheating on her with another women in new york. Her mother wouldn't let her divorce Spencer or come live with her because disgrace for breaking the tradition of women. Her mother didn't want that type of person in her home. So Betty decided to move with her friend in a apartment and divorce Spencer and move on with her life.

Comparison

Katherine Watson has a different teaching style than most teacher even Charles Dickens. Charles says " Teach them fact only facts". Honestly if we are only taught facts with no type of opinion there is a feeling of boredom and curiosity. It makes you think that everything has to be about facts, and like you can't have a opinion.  If you can't have a opinion you start to lose interest in the class. Ms. Watson was a wonderful teacher because she forces you to think outside of the box. Also she is willing to listen to how you feel about whatever you all are talking about. She has a connection with her students like they are her own kids. She counsels the girls to help them become great women leaders in society.

Mona Lisa Smile

I thought this was a very interesting movie which taught a life story. You should never doing anything that will not make you happy. Also don't try to change people into someone they are not. My favorite part is the end because everyone was going to be happy. Everybody decided to go their on ways and to pursuit life in different aspects. I taught a great story which gave us an huge lesson to go by.

I think the movie is about college stuff and art. Students are getting married and losing focus in the education. I believe that the lady is going to help the student regain focus. From the looks of it the lady starts to fall in love. She is going to get married in the end of the movie.

Exams

High School exams are easier than college exams for multiple reasons. In high school you get reviews for test and the teacher reminds you when the test is coming up. In college the teachers doesn't remind you to do anything, including when a test is coming. In college you also do not get reviews for tests or quizzes. High school exams are short and easy while college test are complicated and long. Usually after high school exams you have to wait until everyone is done. In college you do not have to wait you can just leave when you finish.The college exams require you to think more and actually think about what you doing. To prepare for higher level test you should study for at least 20 mins a day up until the day of the test. Also you and your friends should have a study group which be more fun that doing it by yourself.
